…here are some various style Fly Boxes I make…

osage.1

This is my basic “streamside” model I make and use myself…Ponderosa Pine with a deer leather hinge…I use a small round magnet to secure it shut. I keep the fly’s in place with strips of ethafoam allowing placement wherever I wish…

~a flamed version to match my “RainMaker” & “Native Angler” series fly rods~

I like this because it allows me to place as many or few flies in the box where I want to…allowing for extras to be “stuck in” for certain patterns I use a lot. Like some extra 20″ers ,rainbow warriors, barr emergers or baetis patterns I use a lot of. I rack em’ up up on both sides of the foam, sticking in extras of ones I use most.

…my personal duo…on left my dry go to’s…and on the right my nymphs and emergers…

…I have a smaller size third one for my nuclear eggs and SJ’s…and one more just for attractors..

…guesstimate?? 150 plus  fly’s in each…

~as many or as few as I like spaced the way I like

This is a style box I have made for myself for quite a while…being a bit more rustic or organic than lots of the fancy boxes I have had and sold in shops I have worked at over the years…my hand tied flies seem a bit more at home in these than the over priced plastic and aluminum ones…the deer leather hinges are all made from leather like the wood I harvest…I used to make the clasps like on my rod cases with antler and leather too…but I gave in on the little magnets since they are just so functional, and make the cases pretty low profile…

~I also can make these in finishes to match my rod cases too~

I can attach a small lanyard for those that like that…sometimes it is nice not to have to worry if one slips out of your hands and takes a trip downstream on you…unless of course you are trying to pass on some flies to a friend downstream…these boxes float like a little raft!

I like using one for my nymphs and wet flies…and one for my dry patterns.

All my boxes are finished with a few coatings of hand rubbed oil, then top coated with a clear acrylic spray…they measure in two different sizes…2 & 1/2″ X 3″ and 3 &1/2″ both are 1 &1/2 inches thick…

~the streamside boxes range in price from  $45 to $65each~

My Presentation fly cases  have concealed mechanical hinges and small magnetic closures…these boxes are for storing & displaying special flies, or for a collection of classics etc… on your desk, shelf or tying bench…they have my logo branded on them …they also make a nice place to store the special tools used for tying flies…I can install some elastic straps into the sheepskin if desired to hold them fast…I also can use Elk or deer leather for lining for a case for tools…I use either shearling or buffalo furs, or even the more modern foam type common to most modern cases.

…The Fly Boxes are $75.00…base price  …they measure 8 X 4″ and 2″ thick…storage area inside is 3″ X 7″…

Classic flies need a good home too…this box is lined with lambs wool, a closer knap for attaching multiple flies easily, I glued the liner in this box permanently…above are some “Tied in Hand” fly’s that found a nice home…

…case lining’s & fly attachments  , either foam, leather, fur or shearling are extra…

…here is the base case w/o any pads to show the interior construction & finish…

I also make these or my hex cases for shops in quantity orders with their own branded  logo on them…I can modify existing logo’s or artwork for making up a brand…or help you to design one…contact me for details…

fly_case3…here are some “tied in hand” flies I made up on my coffee table…

…these cases are meant for special flies in special places…here is one on my coffee table w/ some new ties I have been working on…sometimes its nice to just sit in my chair and look at them…along with my other treasures…LOL…

fly_case4

…here is one in red oak…”quercus rubra”…I can also make them from walnut, teak, ash, white oak, mahogany, hickory or any other hardwood you like…occasionally I have some zebra wood from my net production……my “in stock” woods are clear white  and ponderosa pines…contact me for availability and costs of optional wood species…

wooden cases 002

here is a case I carved from an aspen log…a branch about 6″ in diameter and then split and hollowed out…I don’t have these all the time, but do have a few in stock…and a few blank sections ready to carve…these are more of the “coffee table” variety…the medallion is one I found at a yard sale w/ an antler cut off from my supply…I can incorporate items you have as well, or just leave the case natural…

…email me if you are interested…

wooden cases 006

… I make a little different style of fly holder for these, small wood strips like a small tree, with some fur on them…

flybox_2 copy…some “Tied in Hand” classic patterns a friend tied up…

I also make reel boxes…for single, double or triple reel’s with separate compartments and foam padding…I need reel sizes( model & mfg is fine) to make quote…these are in either a style like the fly boxes above, or in “Hex” cases like the storage tubes…

split_tail4 copy

…I like to store my ” tied in hand”  in mine…these aren’t necessarily  meant for stream side use…more of a place on your desk or coffee table…

WM does not , and will not copy proprietary tapers or rod models of other  companies, current or past…

neither will I will not  make “knock off’s” of classic or existing rods…
